The Item: The Casio MQ-24

While looking for writeups about watches on the web, I noticed that all that's being prominently featured are those models which the general public cannot afford. I actually read in a GQ article that you need to shell out at least $2,500 to get your foot in the door of great watches. Any lower, and there's a great chance that your watch was probably mass produced. Oh, the horror! Puh-leez.

I for one would like to think that we all live in the real world. Only so few of us are gazillionaires and have enough money to burn on a Rolex or a Tag Heuer. So I'd like to be a bit more realistic with my recommendation. Call it mass produced or cheap, but the Casio MQ-24 will tell the time and get you through the day without looking that bad at all!

I've had mine for over a year now and if there's one thing I love about it, it proves that there is much beauty in simplicity. A simple black strap with a matte finish and no flashy detail to speak of, it is the perfect example of being sleek without spending an arm or a leg. I bought mine for about $10, and as it is, I'd take it over blinged out alternatives every time!

Really nice watch! Are the straps adjustable? Where do I find a watch like that here in the Philippines? I browsed ebay and the shipping charges cost much more than the product.
