The Store: Fred Perry

If you've read my blog before, you know how frustrated I get about not having a lot great stuff available here, specifically for men who have a hard time as it is. Well, some months ago, that list just got a little bit shorter.

Fred Perry opened in Greenbelt 5 some time back, and with its opening came its whole lineup of beautiful plimsolls, shirts, jackets, and my favorite revelation of all, designer collaborations. Its unveiling was a definite wish come true for me, as Fred Perry has been one of my most admired brands because of its legacy and its ability to push forward and remain contemporary.

A tower of Fred Perry classics

While I love the fit and patterns of their shirts, my favorite item in the whole store would have to be their Plimsolls. Their shape is the best I've seen out of all the shoes of of its genre and the color ways and materials they come in just make the shoes infinitely more interesting. The olive green pair has had my eye for a minute now and is a definite must-buy in the very near future!

The olive green pair: it's only a matter of time...

New Plimsoll awesomeness: white leather, seersucker, two-toned

My new love: Black and white two-toned plimsolls. Ugh. So amazing.

As for the collaborations I've been raving about, the Greenbelt 5 go-to carries the comprehensive line of the brand's partnership with celebrated designer Raf Simons. And as if that wasn't enough to get me salivating over the possibilities, they go and release the Peter Jensen designed Harrington Jackets which I've fallen quite hard for. A fine move, Fred Perry. I am in your debt.

The one I just had to try on: The Peter Jensen Red Harrington Jacket

Strategically located on the ground floor of the Greenbelt 5 extension, this relatively small store, in my view, embodies what menswear should be about: staying true to the classics yet being open to new and exciting points of view.

The pieces are so wonderfully made that you won't even notice spending extended amounts of time in the store just gazing at them. And that won't be a problem at all. The staff is so accommodating and will even care to chat with you about the fine points of style if you're game.

Great items, great service: c'mon now, is there anything else you can ask for in a store? One of my favorite places for sure.

With these classics in different colors, you can never go wrong

Can't wait for the Centenary shirts this June!

Some more sweet footwear for the road

Fine accessories from Fred (my favorite is the laurel keychain)
